The run is nicknamed “the longest marathon in the world,” in reference to the many wines on offer to sidetrack runners. Average times are far slower than usual marathons, but no one seems to care.
An annual race in France, which calls itself the world’s longest marathon, is attempting to ease runners’ pain by offering them gourmet food and wine on the way to the finish line.
